MARAUDA

Hamish Prasad, also known as MARAUDA and MOOG (formerly, MASTADON), is a bass music producer and DJ currently based in Sydney, Australia. MARAUDA creates tearout, deathstep, dubstep, trench and melodic dubstep.

Prasad is often credited as a main figurehead of the tearout/trench scenes, bringing the underground grit of deathstep into the mainstream alongside the genre's originators such as INHUMAN and SADHU. Prasad's work with Never Say Die Records was a major catalyst for this more recent style.. In specific, Prasad's style of song structure favours the more recent riddim/trench-heavy uses of repetitive motifs, allowing his work to often feel anthemic and Lovecraftian.

MARAUDA's branding and thematic stylings is also a reflection of his early career with Crowsnest Audio, a dubstep/deathstep label created by INHUMAN, whose collective focused mostly on Lovecraftian-esque imagery and heavy metal-inspired aesthetics.

Prasad began to self release his music through his solo imprint Malignant Music, which later opened into a full label on 21 August 2020 with the release of Malignant Vol. 1. Since then his label has become a broadcaster of underground and upcoming talent in the tearout and heavy dubstep scenes.
